About The Dream Tour
...a motivational series that encourages America’s middle school students to both find and achieve their potential by encouraging them to go to college and study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as a way to fulfill their dreams. Created by The Harris Foundation and funded by a grant from the ExxonMobil Foundation, the Tour’s goal is to reach over 1,000,000 students, teachers and parents by the year 2010. We encourage communities to demand access to strong science and mathematics programs in their schools, improved teacher training in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and increased access to Advanced Placement (AP) courses for their students. The Tour is the Harris Foundation’s second educational outreach project with the ExxonMobil Foundation, which also partnered with Dr. Harris to create the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camps( EMBHSSC). A free academic program for middle school students focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The camps are held each summer at 23 colleges and universities nationally.
